Tallawong Public School finds permanent home

The fast-tracked Tallawong Public School has opened today, with 24 permanent classrooms, three support learning classrooms, a hall, library and canteen, sports court and play areas.

The new permanent school will accommodate 600 students, and will enable the removal of 15 demountables at Riverstone Public School that were being used by students as a temporary school.

“The new permanent Tallawong Public School is not just bricks and mortar – it’s a commitment to every family in this community that they will have access to high-quality education,” said Deputy Premier and Minister for Education and Early Learning, Prue Car.

“We inherited an infrastructure backlog that left students crammed into demountables for years. We are hard at work to fix it, school by school, classroom by classroom, and communities like Tallawong are starting to see the results.”

Tallawong Public School Principal, Julie Grennard, welcomed the opening of the new facility.

“As the foundation Principal of Tallawong Public School, it’s been a privilege to be a part of our school’s journey from the very start,” she said.

“I’m incredibly excited to reach this final milestone together as we transition into our new permanent home.”
