Transport Canberra has launched a recruitment drive to find permanent part-time bus drivers to join its growing team.
The transport authority is seeking people who:
- enjoy working with the community;
- have strong customer service skills;
- hold a Class C licence (or above);
- are available to work a five-day roster and take on additional weekend work.
“As Canberra’s public transport network continues to evolve, we’re expanding our zero-emission bus fleet and investing in modern infrastructure to support a more sustainable future,” Transport Canberra said in a statement.
“Recent projects include the establishment of the new Woden Transport Interchange and our purpose-built zero-emission bus depot, helping deliver better services for the community and improved facilities for our workforce.
“Joining Transport Canberra also means becoming part of a proud history. This year, we are celebrating 100 years of public transport in Canberra, marking a century of connecting communities and helping people get where they need to go. You could be part of the next milestone.”
No previous bus driving experience is necessary. Successful applicants will receive paid training and support to help them become qualified bus drivers.
Applications have now opened and will close at 11.59 pm on Sunday 6 September. Visit the ACT Government Careers and Employment webpage to apply now.
