Swanbourne Station precinct EOI released

WA

The development industry is being invited to submit their ideas to transform approximately 1.8 hectares of State-owned land adjacent to Swanbourne Station into a destination to complement the Swanbourne Town Centre.

The Wa Government says the opportunity offers potential for housing, businesses, shops, and public spaces that will activate the area and make better use of the land.

The land is generally bounded by Claremont Crescent, Railway Street, and the extension of Parry and William streets.

Cedar Woods Properties Ltd submitted a proposal to redevelop the land within the railway reserve adjacent to Swanbourne train station, under the State Government’s Market-led Proposals Policy (MLP).

This development opportunity is now being offered to the market through an Expressions of Interest process, with Cedar Woods granted a first mover advantage.

“This Expression of Interest is being offered to seek innovative ideas to transform the Swanbourne Station precinct into a vibrant community hub for Swanbourne and surrounding suburbs,” said Acting Treasurer, John Carey.

“The proposal submitted by Cedar Woods has been assessed against the MLP criteria and is now offered to the market under a competitive EOI process.

“We are looking for a development outcome that supports and creates local jobs, bolsters housing supply, and offers community amenities, while enhancing the performance of the Swanbourne Station and METRONET objectives,” he said.

Responses to the invitation for Expression of Interest will close on January 19, 2024, and can be submitted through TendersWA.
