Queensland Police officer suspended

A police officer from the Queensland’s Northern Region has been suspended from duty after being issued a Notice to Appear subject to an allegation of assault.

The 31-year-old Sergeant is subject to an allegation of assault and has been bailed to re-appear in the Millmerran Magistrates Court on December 8, 2023.

He has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm, pursuant to section 320 of the Criminal Code.

“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the Service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” Queensland Police said in a statement today.

“This does not mean that the allegations against the member have been substantiated.”
