A NSW Police civilian employee has been charged over an alleged domestic violence incident in Sydney’s south earlier this week.
In a statement, NSW Police confirmed that at around 2pm on Friday, officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command received a report of an alleged domestic violence incident.
“Police were told a 51-year-old man had allegedly assaulted a 14-year-old girl known to him at a home in Bangor, on Thursday,” NSW Police said.
“Following inquiries, about 7pm yesterday, police attended the address and arrested the 51-year-old – a staff member attached to a specialist command – before taking him to Sutherland Police Station.”
He was charged with common assault (DV). The 51-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear before Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday 27 May.
The man’s employment status is now under review.
