NT Road Policing rolls out hi-tech fleet additions

Northern Territory Road Policing (TRP) has strengthened its operational capability in Alice Springs with the addition of two new vehicles to its fleet.

The vehicles – a Subaru WRX and a Toyota 300 Series Landcruiser – have been fully equipped with state-of-the-art enforcement technology.

NT Police said the strategic fleet upgrade reinforces the unit’s ability to operate effectively across the Territory’s diverse conditions.

The track-tested WRX delivers high-performance capability for highway patrol and rapid urban response, while the 300 Series Landcruiser provides the durability and versatility required for remote and challenging terrain.

The new vehicles will support ongoing enforcement efforts and maintain a strong policing presence across both major road networks and remote areas.

TRP Superintendent Rick Magree said the upgrade was a welcome boost to the TRP’s southern team.

“Policing roads in the Northern Territory means dealing with vast distances, harsh conditions and remote locations,” he said.

“This upgrade ensures our officers have the capability to respond wherever and whenever they’re needed, while maintaining the highest standard of Road Policing.”
