The Northern Territory Government is inviting all NT Public Sector employees to take part in the 2025 People Matter Survey, a key tool for improving workplaces and service delivery across the sector.
The survey closes on Friday, 5 September 2025, with 29 NTPS organisations participating, including government-owned corporations and independent entities such as the Electoral Commission and ICAC.
Held biennially, the confidential survey measures how staff feel about their workplace – from covering engagement, job satisfaction, leadership and communication – while supporting better service delivery for Territorians. It highlights strengths, identifies areas for improvement, and tracks progress over time.
Minister for Public Service, Jo Hersey said the survey was an important driver of workplace improvement.
“This survey isn’t a box-ticking exercise – it’s about listening to staff and using their feedback to implement to deliver real change in our agencies,” Mrs Hersey said.
“The results will help us create safer, healthier, and more supportive workplaces across the NT Public Sector, which ultimately means better services and outcomes for Territorians.”
“This is the first survey for our new agencies since the Machinery of governance changes, and I am eager to see what we are doing right and what needs improvement, so the NTPS can keep delivering for all Territorians.”
Survey results will guide continuous improvement, shape workforce development, and deliver tangible outcomes for staff and agencies.
The Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment will publish a whole-of-sector benchmark report, agency reports, and a whole-of-sector response plan later this year. Agencies will then be required to develop their internal action plans and manage communications with staff, the Minister said.
