NSWP Western Region officer charged with assault

A NSW Police Western Region officer has been charged over an alleged assault in the state’s west.

In a statement, NSW Police said an investigation commenced following a report a male probationary constable attached to the Western Region allegedly assaulted a woman at a home in Broken Hill on Saturday 15 August.

“No injuries were reported.”

“Following inquiries, the officer was served with a Future Court Attendance Notice for one charge of common assault yesterday,” Police stated.

He is due to appear before Broken Hill Local Court on Monday 12 October.

NSW Police confirmed the officer’s employment status is under review, but he remains in the workplace on restricted duties.
