A 32-year-old NSW Police officer has been charged following an investigation by the organisation’s Professional Standards Command.
Strike Force Attain was established in July 2023 by the Professional Standards Command, following reports a Leading Senior Constable – attached to a command in the South West Metropolitan Region – had accessed restricted data while undertaking his duties.
Following inquiries, the 32-year-old man was issued a court attendance notice today, for four counts of access/modify restricted data held in computer.
The officer – who has been suspended with pay since September 2023 – is due to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Monday 12 February 2024.
His employment status is currently under review, NSW Police said in a statement.
