NSW Police officer charged with 21 DV offences

A 36-year-old NSW Police Senior Constable has been charged with domestic violence offences following an investigation by the Professional Standards Command.

Last month, officers from the Professional Standards Command commenced an investigation under Strike Force Carne into alleged historic domestic violence offences involving a serving police officer attached to a specialist command while off-duty.

Following inquiries, the male senior constable was arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station.

The officer was charged with 21 offences including:

  • Four counts of common assault DV
  • Seven counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm DV
  • Six counts of stalk intimidate intend fear physical harm
  • Aggravated sexual assault inflict aggravated bodily harm DV
  • Two counts of destroy or damage property less than $2,000 DV
  • Do act intending to pervert the course of justice

He was refused bail to appear before Fairfield Local Court today, where he was further refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on 15 November.

His employment status is currently under review, NSW Police said in a statement.
