NSW Police leadership changes announced

The NSW Government has announced the appointment of NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Scott Cook as Deputy Commissioner, Corporate Services, while Deputy Commissioner Dean Smith will take on responsibility for Metropolitan Field Operations.

“I welcome the announcement that Deputy Commissioner Scott Cook APM has been appointed to the role of Deputy Commissioner, Corporate Services,” said Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism, Yasmin Catley.  

“Every member of the NSW Police Force is entrusted with serving the community, but to be appointed to a senior leadership role is a rare privilege and an extraordinary honour.  

“On behalf of the people of NSW, I warmly congratulate Deputy Commissioner Cook on his appointment to this important role, and I thank him for his continued commitment to serving the people of our state.”

Minister Yatley said she looked forward to working closely with Deputy Commissioner Cook as he carries forward the enduring mission of the NSW Police to uphold the law and protect communities.

“I also congratulate Deputy Commissioner Dean Smith for his new role overseeing Metropolitan Field Operations,” she said.
