New SA ICAC Deputy Commissioner begins in role

South Australia’s new Deputy Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption has commenced in the role this week.

Cassandra White (pictured), formerly an Executive Solicitor in the Crown Solicitor’s Office’s Employment Law section, was appointed to fill the key leadership role within the state’s anti-corruption watchdog at the end of April.

“Cassandra White is an exceptionally capable solicitor with a history of managing highly complex legal matters during her time with the Crown Solicitor’s Office,” said Attorney General, Kyam Maher.

“She has an extensive background in providing high level advice on a range of legal matters across Government with a focus on employee misconduct and integrity.

“I have every faith in her ability to provide strong leadership of one of our key integrity bodies, working alongside the Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption, in holding Government agencies to account and combatting corruption and maladministration in the public sector.”

Ms White is widely recognised for her expertise in employee misconduct and integrity matters. Most recently, she was employed with the Crown Solicitor’s Office, where she provided legal advice on complex matters involving public administration and conduct.

“I’m excited to step into the role of Deputy Commissioner and to contribute to the important work of combatting corruption and strengthening integrity and public trust in South Australia,” Ms White said.

“I look forward to working closely with colleagues and public authorities to support trust and accountability across the public sector.”
