The Northern Territory Government has unveiled a new program designed to help build a pipeline of high-quality, early-stage investable start-ups in the Territory.
Territory businesses and founders can now access Ignite – the next evolution of the Business Innovation Program – redesigned to support more businesses, with new founder training and pitch workshops, and two streams so innovators can enter at whatever stage suits them.
Stream A provides a $2,000 voucher for advisory and mentorship services to develop an Innovation Project Plan and is open year-round. Stream B offers up to $15,000 to develop a Minimum Viable Product, along with pitch training and enrolment in the next Accelerate Program founder stream.
Under the program, applications are faster and easier to complete, with unnecessary red tape removed so more businesses can take part – backed by strengthened advisory support and new pitch training to help founders become investor-ready, said Minister for Trade, Business and Asian Relations, Robyn Cahill.
A free Investor Pitch Training Workshop Series will also run between July and October, delivered in Darwin and online, helping local start-ups build compelling, investor-ready pitches.
“Innovation is an important driver for economic growth, productivity, job creation, and new investment. Through Ignite we are fostering entrepreneurship, driving innovation, and ensuring the Territory remains competitive on the global stage,” said Minister Cahill.
Ignite Innovation Partner and The Array Co-founder and Managing Director, Dylan Bennett said the right support at the right moment makes all the difference.
