New Chair for WA Regional Development Trust

The WA Government has announced the appointment of former Arts Minister, David Templeman as Chair of the Western Australian Regional Development Trust to help drive economic diversification and job creation.

Regional Development Minister, Stephen Dawson said Mr Templeman (pictured) will bring strong government experience and a passion for and knowledge of the regions to the role.

He joins Deputy Chair, Tom Stephens and current board members, Paula Hickey and Neema Premji.

Other new board appointments include Cherie Heslington, who has experience in a range of senior regional roles, and Julie Waylen, who brings expertise in the disability and community services sector.

“I welcome David as Chair of the Regional Development Trust, bringing his extensive experience in government, culture and the arts, and the regions. I also welcome the appointments of Cherie Heslington and Julie Waylen,” said Minister Dawson.

“I would like to recognise the valued contributions of outgoing chair Professor David Caddy and board members Oral McGuire and David Doepel.”
