Man wanted over threatening letters to Sydney hotels

NSW Police are appealing for information after a man was seen attaching threatening letters to hotels in Sydney last month.

In a statement, NSW Police said officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command commenced investigations after a man was seen placing the letters at two hotel buildings in Sydney on Wednesday 27 August and Thursday 2 September.

Police were told a man approached the two buildings on Martin Place and Hickson Road and affixed multiple envelopes on the building containing threatening messages, before leaving the scene, Police said.

The letters have been seized for forensic examinations.

As investigations continue, police are seeking assistance to identify a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being of Asian/Indian subcontinental appearance, possibly in his 20s, with a moustache and beard and short black hair.

He was wearing a black checkered long sleeve shirt, black pants, black running shoes, with a black shoulder bag and a ‘boombox’ slung over his shoulder.

Anyone who may have been in the vicinity between 10.30am on Wednesday 27 August and 11pm on Thursday 2 September is urged to contact Sydney City Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
