Hundreds of NT jobs go live online

More than 1,800 people have signed up to the Northern Territory’s WorkerConnect Portal – which provides Territory businesses with a free recruitment page, and jobseekers with a one-stop platform to find a job and a future in the Territory.

The portal is primarily targeted at people interstate and overseas as part of a $12.8 million package to boost the Territory’s workforce.

Jobseekers can search for positions in key industries and sign up for job alerts, as well as upload their CV to the portal for free.

When Territory businesses search for workers, they can use filters and match with candidates based on their skills, experience and work rights preferences. Businesses can also post job vacancies on the platform at no cost. There are currently nearly 1,600 jobs being advertised for free on the portal.

To help address the Territory’s worker shortage, the second phase of the Global Worker Attraction Program kicked off yesterday in a bid to recruit workers to the Territory and upskill the Territory’s workforce.

Targeting Melbourne, Adelaide, Ipswich, South Africa, Qatar, Dubai, and Singapore, advertisements promoting the NT as a great place to live and work and will run domestically and internationally as part of an ongoing campaign. Key international locations will also see face to face sessions rolled out later in the year.
