Five arrested after drugs, guns seized in Broadmeadows

Victoria Police North West Metro Regional Crime Squad detectives have arrested five people after seizing an assortment of guns and drugs and disrupting a clandestine drug laboratory in Broadmeadows yesterday.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a home on Riggall Street, Broadmeadows on Monday, where they located and seized 12 firearms, including handguns, a shotgun, and an air rifle.

A clandestine laboratory was discovered inside the premises and was examined by chemists before being dismantled, Victoria Police said in a statement.

It is alleged quantities of cannabis and methylamphetamine were also located.

Police say the arrests relate to an investigation into shots allegedly fired on Lewis Street, Glenroy which impacted an unrelated premises on 4 March.

A 30-year-old Glenroy man was charged the same day after it was alleged five firearms, including an AK47 were seized from a Glenroy home under warrant.
