The NSW Government has today unveiled new artist’s impressions and floor plans for the $630 million Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment.
The new designs include the planned locations of hospital departments within the new multi-storey building.
The clinical services building will be located at the front of the existing Fairfield Hospital building. As part of the project, enhancements to the existing Fairfield Hospital will also be delivered, including upgrades to the main entry and drop-off areas, providing convenient access to a new main foyer, reception, and the existing hospital buildings.
“This redevelopment is part of our commitment to finally give Western Sydney the hospitals, the services and the investment it was promised for more than a decade but never received,” said Premier, Chris Minns.
“When it’s complete families in Fairfield will have a modern Emergency Department, more beds, better care and world-class facilities close to home.”
The redevelopment will also include a new multi-storey car park and expanded ground level parking zones, which will boost the number of parking spaces on the hospital campus and improve access to health services across the hospital campus.
The new clinical services building will include:
- Expanded Emergency Department
- Intensive Care Unit
- Medical Imaging
- Operating theatres
- Inpatient wards.
Some existing departments will also be relocated or refurbished as part of the project.
The final design for the redevelopment will be confirmed as planning for the project progresses.

The first early works planning application is also currently on public exhibition, with work expected to start next year following planning approval. The community is invited to view plans and provide feedback on the works, which will prepare the site for main works construction.
“The $630 million Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment will transform the Fairfield Hospital campus and enhance the health care services provided by our hard-working staff,” said Health Minister, Ryan Park.
“We’re building modern health facilities across Western Sydney to support our fastest growing communities now and into the future.
“More hospitals, more beds, lower wait times. It’s as simple as that.”
The Fairfield community is being encouraged to have their say and provide feedback on the proposed hospital designs and early works to help shape planning for the redevelopment.

The new clinical services building and enhancements to the hospital campus are a reflection of our commitment to providing more healthcare services to a growing population,” said South Western Sydney Local Health District Chief Executive, Sonia Marshall.
“The latest plans give our community an idea of how Fairfield Hospital will look and function in the near future and I encourage our community to get involved and have their say about their local hospital.”
