A NSW Police specialist command officer has been charged after allegedly breaching an apprehended violence order (AVO).
In a statement, NSW Police said officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District received a report that a 45-year-old woman had allegedly breached an AVO on 2 October.
Following inquires, police issued the woman – a senior constable attached to a specialist command – with a court attendance notice on Thursday, for two counts of contravene prohibition or restriction in AVO.
She is due to appear before Belmont Local Court on Monday 4 December.
The woman is currently suspended with pay, with a review into her employment status ongoing, NSW Police said.
