Education Minister begins study tour of India, UAE

Queensland Education Minister, Grace Grace has departed the State for a week-long study tour in India and the United Arab Emirates.

The Minister (pictured) said the trip was set to provide a welcome opportunity to strengthen business relationships and connections between offshore Queensland Recognised Schools and the Queensland Government.

Her travel will include high-level strategic meetings with leaders from the Indian and UAE Governments, private sector, racing and school sectors to discuss matters of mutual interest.

“This study tour provides opportunities to examine educational innovation in the United Arab Emirates and India,” she said.

“These global perspectives will help inform my department’s implementation of our strategy Equity and Excellence: realising the potential of every student.

“Education Queensland International (EQI) is a growing international education market. EQI receives international students from India and is now showing an upward trend for school enrolments post-pandemic.

“I also intend to further business opportunities and connections for Queensland racing through strengthening relationships with the racing industry in Dubai.”
