Designs released for new Beenleigh station precinct

The Queensland Government has released updated designs for the new Beenleigh station precinct, as part of its Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail project.

The new Beenleigh station will be relocated approximately 650 metres north, closer to the town centre and key community facilities, creating a more accessible and integrated precinct for commuters and local businesses, said Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Brent Mickelberg.

“The Crisafulli Government is committed to getting on with the job of delivering the infrastructure Queenslanders need, after a decade of delays, missed opportunities and underinvestment in key transport corridors under the former Labor Government,” Minister Mickelberg said.

“We said we would build a more reliable transport network for Queensland and that’s exactly what we are doing with projects like Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail.

“The new precinct will support more frequent and reliable services, reduce congestion on the network and make it easier for people to get where they need to go.”

The updated design delivers a safer, more accessible station with improved walking and cycling connections, a new bus interchange, and a significant expansion of park ‘n’ ride facilities.

Importantly, the new station location allows construction to occur while keeping the existing station operational, minimising disruption for commuters.

Queenslanders can view the updated design and provide feedback until 31 May.

The upgraded Beenleigh station precinct is jointly funded by the State and Federal Governments.
