The WA Government has awarded a contract for the construction of a new $3 million kiosk at Wellington National Park in the state’s south west.
Bunbury building company, Perkins (WA) Pty Ltd has been awarded the contract to design and construct the new facility adjacent to Wellington Dam at the popular tourism destination.
“Wellington National Park is one of the South West’s most-loved natural assets, offering something for everyone to enjoy, and this new kiosk will help ensure visitors can enjoy the park’s beauty with improved amenities,” said WA Environment Minister, Matthew Swinbourn.
“This project is part of the Cook Government’s $165 million Outdoor Adventure Tourism package that is enhancing nature-based tourism by delivering new and upgraded boating facilities, campgrounds, trails, and tourist attractions across Western Australia.”
The new facility will be built alongside the park’s existing heritage-listed kiosk, allowing it to be repurposed.
A courtyard between the two buildings will create a vibrant visitor hub, offering a welcoming space for people to relax and enjoy refreshments before or after visiting the ‘Reflections’ mega-mural on the dam wall or exploring the many trails on offer within the park.
The current kiosk operators will continue operating throughout construction, eventually transitioning and expanding their business into the new building once it is complete.
Collie was officially accredited as a Trail Town by Trails WA in 2024, recognising its growing reputation as a premier outdoor adventure destination.
The extensive Wambenger Trails mountain bike trail network, in Wellington National Park, recently hosted the 2025 UCI Oceania and National Gravity Enduro mountain bike championships for the second year in a row.
