Victorian Minister for Education, Ben Carroll, has today revealed Carlton Gardens Primary School’s sizeable extension and upgrade, which includes a new sustainable building with flexible teaching and learning spaces which has created capacity for an extra 150 students.
“I’m so thrilled to see these new facilities come to life at Carlton Gardens Primary School, where more students will have more space to receive a wonderful education,” said Mr Carroll.
“More students than ever now have the facilities and first-class education they deserve, thanks to the Allan Labor Government’s record investment in school infrastructure.”
Accessible bridge links connect the new building to existing ones, while a covered play area with external seating and landscaping, and renovations to a heritage building are all part of the revamp.
The upgrade has been delivered with an investment of $10.59 million – a share in the Government’s $130.1 million Established Areas Program.
“The richness and diversity of Carlton is a reason so many Victorians love living here – and having convenient, modern and world-class learning facilities nearby is creating even more opportunities for all local students to learn and thrive,” said Member for Northern Metropolitan Region, Sheena Watt.
