Woman charged with hospital assault of Police officer

A 25-year-old woman is due to face court charged after a NSW Police officer was allegedly assaulted at a hospital in Gosford this morning.

“When officers attempted to stop the woman, she allegedly struck an officer’s head with the ceramic plate, causing the plate to smash.

“The woman allegedly attempted to take hold of an officer’s firearm and was subdued following a further struggle in which OC spray was deployed.”

The woman was handcuffed and returned to her room in the hospital, while the 23-year-old police officer was treated by medical staff for serious lacerations to his face.
