A Western Australian online program that links employers to veterans looking for work is now live.
The Transition Employment Portal is the first of its kind in Australia, providing a direct link between employers and job-seeking veterans.
The government says the portal will streamline the process of matching up employers to veterans, making it easier for participating companies to hire a veteran.
The boost for employers is a major milestone for the Veterans Employment Program run by Working Spirit and RSLWA, funded through the State Government’s Anzac Day Trust Grants Program.
“The Transition Employment Portal will streamline the process of veterans accessing job opportunities as they transition back to civilian life,” said WA Veterans Issues Minister, Paul Papalia.
“The collaboration between Working Spirit and RSLWA has already delivered outstanding results in the veterans employment space.
“The McGowan Government is proud to support this initiative through the Anzac Day Trust Grants Program.
“We delivered a funding increase of $1 million per year to the Anzac Day Trust to provide WA Ex-Service Organisations with greater financial security to pursue important projects.
“I encourage employers interested in hiring a veteran to contact Working Spirit about this exciting opportunity.”
