Victoria Police seize $40,000 worth of illegal vapes and nicotine patches

Box Hill Police have seized more than $40,000 worth of illegal vapes and nicotine pouches in Burwood early yesterday morning.

In a statement, Victoria Police said officers on patrol spotted a black Mercedes wagon driving erratically near the intersection of Station Street and Burwood Road at around 4am on Wednesday.

“Checks on the vehicle revealed the Mercedes had a suspended registration,” Victoria Police said.

“Police pulled over the vehicle and discovered the driver’s licence was disqualified.

“The driver allegedly admitted to having a small amount of marijuana on him, which gave police the power to search the Mercedes under the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Act.”

A 24-year-old Carnegie man is expected to be charged on summons.

The Mercedes was impounded at a cost of $966.50.
