NSW Police Child Abuse Squad detectives have today charged two childcare employees with allegedly assaulting a 17-month-old boy in their care.
In a statement, NSW Police said that on Tuesday 26 June, detectives attached to the State Crime Command Child Abuse Squad received a report regarding injuries to the boy at an early learning centre in South Wentworthville.
“Detectives commenced an investigation and ascertained the injuries were allegedly caused by two childcare workers at the facility during separate occasions on the same day,” NSW Police said.
Following further extensive inquiries, detectives yesterday issued two women with Future Court Attendance Notices.
A 42-year-old woman was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault, and a 32-year-old woman was charged with common assault.
Both women will appear in Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday 27 August.
