NSW Police have three people in custody following a successful covert operation to investigate multiple break-ins targeting almost 40 premises across western Sydney during the past three weeks.
Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command, with the assistance of staff attached to North West Metropolitan Region, formed Strike Force Allanson on Monday.
Police will allege a 42-year-old woman coordinated a break, enter and steal campaign targeting a variety of businesses including cafes and takeaways stores, barbers, and supermarkets between Tuesday 13 May and today.
Police will further allege young men were used to assist in the break-ins.
Strike Force Allanson police arrested the woman and an 18-year-old man shortly after 3am this morning, outside a supermarket in Whitecross Road, Winmalee.
Police will allege the man was armed with a hammer and was arrested after smashing the glass window multiple times. The woman was arrested in a car nearby. Both have been taken to Springwood Police Station.
An 18-year-old man was arrested about 10am at a home in Sorenson Crescent, Blackett. He has been taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.
A Suzuki Swift, which police will allege was the car being used in all operations, has been seized and taken for further examination.
A total of 39 businesses are alleged to have been targeted by the organised group including three food outlets in O’Connell Street, Caddens, around 1.30am on 19 May; three food outlets in the St Clair shopping village at St Clair at around 4am on 20 May; and two food outlets, a newsagent and a nail salon on Watergum Drive, Jordan Springs, at around midnight on 25 May.
