Specialist Command officer charged

A NSW Police officer attached to a specialist command has been charged with common assault on the Gold Coast.

In a statement, NSW Police said that just after 9.30pm on Monday 5 February, the 38-year-old man was arrested by Queensland Police at a casino on the Gold Coast following reports a female patron had been assaulted.

The man was taken to Southport Police Station where he was charged with common assault.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday 19 February.

The officer’s employment status is currently under review, NSW Police said.
