Victorian Minister for Ambulance Services, Gabrielle Williams, today announced that a parcel of land at the rear of Grant Street has been chosen as the preferred site for the new, Yarram Ambulance Station.
The new Yarram Ambulance Station will feature a three-bay garage for ambulances, two rest and recline areas, training facilities, a fully-equipped kitchen and improved security and car parking.
The Minister said the location had been selected to ensure the best coverage of ambulance services for the community. It’s also in close proximity to local businesses, sporting and community facilities, and schools. Construction is on track to start later this year.
“We know that local paramedics need modern workplaces, and the latest equipment to stay safe at work and deliver the best care. And that’s exactly what we’re delivering,” said Minister Williams.
“Having a preferred site for the new, multi-million-dollar Yarram Ambulance Station means we are another step closer to delivering six bigger and better ambulance stations in Gippsland – and we are proud to be getting on with the job.”
