The Tasmanian Government has now implemented single form tendering in a bid to slash red tape for businesses looking to be more competitive when they tender for Government work.
Treasurer Eric Abetz said the Government was supporting businesses by simplifying the procurement process.
“These changes are a big win for local businesses,” the Treasurer said.
“They reduce duplication and red tape, particularly for small and medium businesses in Tasmania, while maintaining strong value for money outcomes.”
The changes that have enabled Single Form Tendering include:
- New Request for Quotation templates, making it easier for businesses to provide the information needed;
- New and refreshed guidance materials for companies bidding for Government work;
- The introduction of a Supplier Code of Conduct, which applies to all suppliers contracting with the Tasmanian Government; and
- New material to support agencies in applying the Buy Local Policy for businesses competing for Government work, ensuring benefits are maximised for Tasmania.
“We are reducing paperwork so businesses can focus on what they do best,” the Treasurer said.
“We have strong business conditions, confident businesses and we plan to keep it that way – because it benefits every single Tasmanian.”
