Sergeant charged with fraud offences

A 38-year-old NSW Police officer has been charged with fraud offences, which are alleged to have occurred last year.

Following an investigation by officers from the Professional Standards Command, the male sergeant was issued a Future Court Attendance Notice for three counts of recklessly deal with proceeds of crime more than $5,000 today, NSW Police said in a statement.

He is due to appear before Taree Local Court on Tuesday 20 August.

The officer’s employment status is currently under review, NSW Police said.
