A 50-year-old female Senior Sergeant from the Queensland Police Crime and Intelligence Command will appear in court next month to face a drink driving charge.
Police will allege the Senior Sergeant was driving a motor vehicle whilst over the general alcohol limit but below the middle alcohol limit. The member was off duty at the time, Queensland Police said in a statement.
“The member is stood down from the Queensland Police Service and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 5 March 2024 for one count of driving a motor vehicle whilst over the general alcohol limit but below the middle alcohol limit pursuant to section 79(2)(a) of the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995.”
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the Service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” Queensland Police said.
