Victoria Police Professional Standards Command detectives have charged a senior constable with five counts of sexual assault following an internal investigation.
“The 51-year-old man, from Transit and Public Safety Command, has been charged with five counts of sexual assault against two women,” Victoria Police said in a statement.
The incidents were alleged to have occurred in September last year while the officer, who was upgraded to sergeant at the time, was off-duty.
He will appear at court at a later date.
