The search to find Western Australia’s most outstanding public schools is on.
Education Minister, Tony Buti, today announced nominations are now open for the WA Education Awards 2024.
The WA Education Awards celebrate whole-school communities that demonstrate excellence in the classroom and beyond.
“The WA Education Awards is a real highlight on the calendar each year,” said Dr Buti.
“These awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the collective impact school staff have on our young people, and the positive difference they make each day.
“I am thrilled to have the additional category of excellence in wellbeing and learning this year, and I look forward to seeing the schools who shine in this space.
“Schools are vibrant and enriching places in our communities. I encourage staff, school council and board chairs, and P&C presidents to work together to nominate their schools for this year’s awards.”
Finalist and winning schools are recognised for exceptional achievements, dedication, and innovation. There is one new category in this year’s awards – excellence in wellbeing and learning – bringing the total number of categories to six.
Nominations for the awards will close in August. Four finalists will be selected for each category and winners will be announced in November at a presentation breakfast. Winning schools will receive $20,000 to go towards a project or program, while finalist schools will receive $5,000.
