The 2025 Robopalooza space festival has landed in Perth at the Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct (AARP).
Now in its second year, Robopalooza is a robotics festival featuring a lunar rover competition, live music, a robotics exhibition, and a startup pitch competition.
The 2025 festival has been brought to Perth in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the world’s largest technical professional organisation dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.
The event will attract global visitors to Western Australia, inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists, and showcase WA’s leadership in robotics, automation, and innovation.
“Western Australia is proud to be at the forefront of robotics and automation, and hosting Robopalooza 2025 here at the Australian Automation and Robotics Precinct shows the world the scale of our ambition and capability,” said Science and Innovation Minister, Stephen Dawson.
“Events like Robopalooza not only attract international visitors but also inspire the next generation of engineers and scientists, building the talent we need for the future.
“The Cook Government’s $28 million investment in AARP is helping position WA as a global hub for research, testing and collaboration in robotics, automation and zero-emissions technologies.”
The inaugural Robopalooza was held in 2024 in California’s Mojave Desert, where seven teams from three countries navigated a 300-kilogram planetary robotic rover across lunar-like terrain. A Western Australian team, supported by Fugro’s Space Automation, AI and Robotics Control Complex, won the 2024 event.
