Queensland Police make Mongrel Mob arrests

Detectives from Queensland Police Taskforce Maxima South Eastern Region have charged two Mongrel Mob members with weapon and gang recruitment offences following the execution of a search warrant at Loganlea.

Yesterday, investigators from the Crime and Intelligence Command’s Organised Crime Gangs Group executed a search warrant at a residence where they located and seized firearms, gang clothing and paraphernalia.

Two men, aged 27 and 44, were charged with one count each of recruiting persons to become participant in criminal organisation and unlawful possession of a firearm.

They are expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today.

Organised Crime Gangs Group Detective Inspector Craig Bowman said police will continue to proactively target members of organised crime gangs and their criminal activities.

“We are aware of the attempts by some groups to recruit and expand, and we are actively targeting these groups to prevent their actions impacting the safety of the community,” Det Insp Bowman said.
