A NSW Police Force sub-contractor has been charged with assault following an alleged domestic violence related incident in Sydney’s west.
In a statement, NSW Police said that just after 1.15pm on Sunday 3 May, officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended a Merrylands home after reports of a domestic violence related incident.
“Police were told a child had allegedly been struck with a toy before being fed chilli flakes and a 35-year-old woman was verbally threatened after attempting to intervene,” NSWP said.
As part of inquiries, police attended a home at Guildford where a 35-year-old man – a sub-contractor to the NSW Police Force – was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station.
The man was charged with common assault (DV) and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (DV). He was granted conditional bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 12 May.
The man is no longer contracted to the NSW Police Force.
