Off-duty officer charged with drink driving

An off-duty NSW Police officer has been fined after allegedly low range drink driving in Sydney’s north on Saturday.

In a statement, NSW Police said that at around 1.40am on Saturday, officers attached to North Shore Highway and Traffic Patrol were conducting stationary testing on the Pacific Highway, at Lane Cove North, where they directed a Mazda SUV to stop.

“The driver of the vehicle, a 24-year-old woman, was arrested after returning a positive reading,” NSW Police stated.

She was taken to Chatswood Police Station for secondary testing, which allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.079.

The off-duty probationary constable, attached to a North West Metropolitan Region Command, was issued a Traffic Infringement Notice for drive with low-range PCA.

Her driver’s license was suspended, and her employment status is under review, NSW Police confirmed.
