An off-duty NSW Police officer has been charged following alleged offensive conduct in Sydney’s south earlier this year.
In a statement, NSW Police said officers attached to a Police Transport Command commenced an investigation into a man’s alleged behaviour, on Saturday 21 June at Sutherland Railway Station.
During the investigation police identified that the man was an off-duty police officer.
Following inquiries, a 51-year-old man – a chief inspector attached to South West Metropolitan Region – was charged with behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school.
He was issued a court attendance notice to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday 18 December.
The officer is currently not in the workplace and his employment status is under review, NSW Police confirmed.
