A 59-year-old NSW Police officer has been charged with causing malicious damage during an alleged domestic violence incident.
In a statement, NSW Police said officers commenced an investigation into an incident allegedly committed by a police officer while off-duty on Saturday.
Police arrested the 59-year-old man, taking him to Belmont Police Station where he was charged with destroy or damage property (DV).
The officer – a sergeant attached to a command in the Northern Region – was granted conditional bail to appear at Belmont Local Court on Monday 13 July.
NSW Police said the officer’s employment status is under review.
In a separate incident, a Police employee has been charged with domestic violence related offences.
On Thursday (25 June), Police commenced an investigation into alleged serious domestic violence offences committed by a civilian NSW Police Force employee attached to a command in the Northern Region.
On Friday, officers arrested a 44-year-old woman where she was taken to Windsor Police Station and charged with seven offences including:
- 3 x Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic)
- Assault occasioning actual bodily harm
- Common assault
- False imprisonment
- Intentionally choke etc person without consent (DV)
The woman was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 8 on Saturday.
Her NSW Police employment status is under review.
