NSW Police seize 770kg of meth and million dollars in cash

NSW Police Drug & Firearm Squad detectives have charged two people and seized around 770kgs of methylamphetamine with a street value of approximately $50 million under Strike Force Helix.

The strike force was established in February to investigate the alleged large-scale distribution of drugs across Sydney’s west by a 42-year-old man and his associates.

At around 8.40pm yesterday, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a garage in Kings Langley, where officers located and seized 769kgs of methylamphetamine, 16kgs of cocaine, approximately $1 million in cash, electronic devices and other gadgets consistent with the supply of prohibited drugs.

Two women, aged 40 and 62, were arrested at the scene.

“A subsequent search warrant was then executed at an address in Norwest, where police located and seized a further $150,000 in cash, approximately 200 grams of powder believed to be cocaine, a large amount of steroids, smaller quantities of crystal and powder substances, and further electronics,” Police said.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to Castle Hill Police Station. He was charged with three counts of supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity and two counts of deal with property proceeds of crime => $100,000. he was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.

The women were taken to Riverstone Police Station, where the older woman was charged with deal with property proceeds of crime => $100,000. She was refused bail to appear in Blacktown Local Court today. The younger woman was released pending further inquiries.
