Two North Coast Region Police employees have been charged and suspended from duty, Queensland Police announced today.
In a statement, Queensland Police said a 52-year-old male staff member from the North Coast Region has been charged and suspended.
“The member is subject to allegations they possessed a weapon without a licence and has been bailed to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 15, 2024, charged with one count of unlawful possession of a weapon,” Police said.
In a separate statement, Queensland Police revealed a 42-year-old male Senior Constable from the same region has been served with a notice to appear in court for allegedly inappropriately accessing and disclosing information.
“The officer has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service and is expected to appear in the Redcliffe Magistrates Court [today], charged with one count of computer hacking and misuse, and one count of unauthorised disclosure.”
