New Transport Accident Commission CEO appointed

The Victorian Government has appointed Tracey Slatter as Chief Executive Officer of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC).

Minister for WorkSafe and the TAC, Danny Pearson said Ms Slatter would bring a wealth of experience to the role, having served as CEO of Barwon Water for the past six years and prior to that, as CEO at the City of Port Phillip Council.

Ms Slatter also worked as Head of Claims at the TAC for four years and is well known in the social insurance sector, Minister Pearson said.

“Congratulations to Tracey Slatter on her appointment – her experience and expertise will be instrumental in the TAC reaching its goals to support clients and make our roads safer for everyone,” he said.

In addition to her executive role, Ms Slatter serves on the boards of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (Victoria) and Water Services Association of Australia and is Deputy Chair of the Barwon Regional Partnership.

“I am thrilled to welcome Tracey Slatter to the role of CEO at the TAC – I am confident that her leadership will help the organisation continue to deliver exceptional outcomes for all Victorians,” said Minister for Road Safety, Melissa Horne.

“I look forward to working with Tracey as she leads the TAC in achieving our ambitious target of eliminating death from our roads by 2050, with the first step of halving road deaths by 2030.”

Ms Slatter holds postgraduate qualifications in business leadership and a Masters in Commerce, is a Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ms Slatter will start her role on 3 July, taking over from Joe Calafiore after an eight-year term as CEO.

“Joe Calafiore has fought tirelessly to improve safety on our roads and reduce the number of Victorians affected by the devastation of road trauma – I thank him for his unwavering dedication to the TAC and wish him all the best in his next chapter,” said Minister Pearson.
