Northern Territory Minister for Children and Families, Robyn Cahill, has today announced the appointment of Brent Warren as Chief Executive of the Department of Children and Families.
Mr Warren (pictured) brings more than 25 years of Northern Territory public sector experience to the role, with senior leadership positions across child protection, youth justice, housing, emergency management and law enforcement.
He is currently Deputy Chief Executive, Corporate, Strategic and Enabling Services at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Community Development, and has previously served as Deputy Chief Executive Housing, General Manager Youth Justice and General Manager Family Services at Territory Families, Housing and Communities.
Earlier in his career, Mr Warren spent 17 years with NT Police, concluding as Commander, Greater Darwin.
Ms Cahill said Mr Warren’s appointment comes at an important time for the Department of Children and Families.
“The Department of Children and Families delivers critical services that protect and support children and families and helps vulnerable Territorians onto a better path,” the Minister said.
“Brent’s extensive experience, leadership and strong connection to Territory communities will be invaluable as he leads the department in this vital work.”
Mr Warren commences as Chief Executive of the Department of Children and Families from Monday, 29 September.
