New NT Consumer Affairs Commissioner named

Northern Territory Attorney General, Chansey Paech, has today announced the appointment of Traci Keys as the Northern Territory Commissioner of Consumer Affairs.

The term of the appointment is four years.

Ms Keys (pictured), a senior lawyer and conciliator, has extensive experience in consumer law, stakeholder engagement, management, and the delivery of education and training programs.

In her role of Director with the Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Commission for the past 14 years, Ms Keys gained valuable experience in managing an independent office. She also spent time as the NT Acting Anti-Discrimination Commissioner.

“I congratulate Ms Keys on her appointment as the Northern Territory Commissioner of Consumer Affairs and welcome the skills, experience, and commitment she brings to this role,” said Minister Paech.

“Ms Keys has the right mix of qualifications, background, and personal qualities that will stand her in good stead to take on the role of Commissioner of Consumer Affairs.

“I welcome Ms Keys in full faith that she will be a dynamic advocate for consumer protection across the Territory.”
