Queensland Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Dale Last, has announced the appointment of a new leadership team at Coexistence Queensland to drive stronger relationships between landholders, communities and industry.
Coexistence Queensland assists landholders, communities and the resources and renewable energy industries to successfully and sustainably work together for better outcomes.
The six new appointments to the Coexistence Queensland Board include Cameron MacMillan as the new Chair for a three-year term.
“Coexistence Queensland plays an important role in fostering better relationships between landholders, regional communities and the resources and renewable energy sectors and it’s important it has a strong Board to support its work,” Minister Last said.
“Incoming chair Cameron MacMillan understands rural Queensland and has led QRIDA through times of drought, recovery and growth and brings decades of experience across industry and government.
“He’ll lead an experienced new board with extensive backgrounds across the resources and agriculture sectors, and I have every confidence they have the skillset to drive Coexistence Queensland forward.
“The Crisafulli Government is backing stronger partnerships that respect landholders, encourage investment and deliver a better lifestyle for through a stronger economy.
“I want to also thank the outgoing Chair John Anderson, and the outgoing members of the board, for their service to Coexistence Queensland and to rural Queensland.”
The new board members are:
Member and Chair – Cameron MacMillan
Mr MacMillan has worked as the CEO of the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority for approximately 10 years and has over 30 years experience in business development with a focus on the agricultural sector.
Member – Blessing Agada
Mr Agada is a legal professional with over 20 years of experience in law, contract management, strategic sourcing, business development and management consulting in both the public and private sectors, including in various roles at Origin Energy.
Member – Andrew Brier
Mr Brier is a certified engineer and has provided consulting services for the resources, renewable energy and agricultural sectors and was Chief Executive Officer of the Gasfields Commission from 2012-13.
Member – Sarah Cox
Ms Cox has over 25 years of experience in agriculture, business management, strategic communications and journalism.
Member – Sarah Gooley
Ms Gooley has over 20 years of experience with the natural resources sector, primarily in government and was Queensland Director of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies from 2022 to 2023 and 2024 to 2025.
Member – Natasha Winters
Ms Winters has over 15 years of cross-sector experience spanning university, government, and industry collaboration and has been a Senior Manager of the Sustainable Minerals Institute, University of Queensland since 2017.
The new board members will start their terms on 1 December.
