The Queensland Government has announced the appointment of a new leadership team for the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA).
After a competitive independent selection process, Steve Davidson (pictured, right), has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer, bringing extensive experience in service delivery, business transformation and customer engagement from his senior executive roles at Australian Retirement Trust.
Brook Monahan (pictured, left), founder and Managing Director of Mosaic Property Group, will serve as the new Chair of the RTA Board. Mr Monahan also established the Mosaic Foundation, which supports grassroots organisations working with at-risk and disadvantaged youth, through which he has contributed countless volunteer hours and millions of dollars to support organisations like Emmanuel City Mission.
Three new Board directors have also been appointed:
- Paul Spiro, respected property law expert and business leader, and Chair of the Brisbane Economic Development Agency.
- Connie McKee, real estate trainer, small business owner and respected industry professional with 40 years of experience.
- Colin Cassidy PSM, governance specialist, former senior public servant with decades of experience across state development, planning and regional investment.
They join continuing Board directors, Fiona Caniglia, Christine Castley and Sally Watson.
Minister for Housing, Sam O’Connor thanked the appointments for accepting the invitation to serve the Residential Tenancies Authority.
“Steve has the right skills and experience to modernise service delivery and build confidence in the RTA and Brook brings deep industry knowledge and a strong social conscience through his charitable work supporting so many vulnerable Queenslanders,” Minister O’Connor said.
“The Residential Tenancies Authority plays an important role supporting renters, property owners, and real estate professionals and these experienced new appointments will make sure this organisation is working as well as it possibly can.
“With this leadership renewal, the RTA is well-paced to deliver fair, effective and customer-focused services for Queenslanders.”
