New Dayboro Police Station opened

Queensland Minister for Police, Mark Ryan and Acting Commissioner for Police, Shane Chelepy, yesterday officially opened the new Dayboro Police Station.

The $7.35 million station has been designed to meet the growing demands of the Dayboro community, said A/Commissioner Chelepy.

It will accommodate eight general duties officers, an officer in charge and one administration officer.

“Building a contemporary police station with feedback from the Dayboro locals attests to our commitment to putting the community first,” said A/Commissioner Chelepy.

“Having a state-of-the-art facility with a custom fit out helps support our frontline police perform their daily duties.

“Our officers are incredibly proud to serve the Dayboro community to help ensure they keep safe and feel safe.”

The station services an area spanning approximately 400 square kilometres, covering key locations such as Dayboro, King Scrub, Ocean View, Mount Pleasant, Laceys Creek, Samsonvale, Kobble Creek, Mount Samson, Cedar Creek and sections of Clear Mountain, Cashmere and Kurwongbah.

The previous Dayboro Police Station was built in 1961, replacing the original structure, which dated back to 1911.

“This station stands as a testament to our collective efforts to build a stronger, safer Dayboro,” said Minister Ryan.
