The Tasmanian Government has announced the appointment of Dean Kearney as the new Chief Executive Officer of Sustainable Timber Tasmania.
Minister for Business, Industry and Resources, Felix Ellis, congratulated Mr Kearney, who was selected following a comprehensive recruitment process.
“Mr Kearney brings extensive experience in forest and land management across a 25-year career,” Minister Ellis said.
“I also thank Greg Hickey, Sustainable Timber Tasmania’s General Manager of Operations for his leadership while Acting in the CEO role since the retirement of Steve Whiteley in July.”
Mr Kearney (pictured) has spent the last 25 years working in planning and management roles for the Forestry Corporation of NSW.
Mr Hickey will continue as Acting CEO until Mr Kearney commences in the role on 2 February 2026.
